The Feast of Our Lives: Re-Imaging Communion

June Christine Goudey

(The Pilgrim Press, June 2002)

For more than twenty years of ordained ministry, my life-work has been to communicate grace and educate imagination. After struggling for many years with the church’s theological emphasis on sacrificial imagery and suffering, and its use of guilt, fear, punishment, and pain as a means to express God’s love, I seek to foster individual and communal well-being by expanding our awareness of the nature of communion and community within and without the Christian Church.  I also seek to expand our experience of what it means to be fully alive. Through my writing and through these lectures I offer a healing vision of human imagination that can transform our understanding of what it means to be fully human and fully connected in the life of the Spirit.
